Description and Review

New Super Mario Bros. is a new release from Nintendo that brings the old-style, side-scrolling Mario to the Nintendo Wii. Fans of the Mario games on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) or Super Nintendo (SNES) will be immediately familiar with this title.

Unlike Super Mario Galaxy, which features a completely 3D environment, New Super Mario Brothers is more of an update to the old 2D games. It brings with it a number of improvements however, including local multiplayer for up to four people (a first for a Mario title).

This is considered a highly promising title for the Nintendo Wii, with initial media previews all positive. This title should not be confused with the earlier New Super Mario Brothers for the Nintendo DS, of which this game is a sequel.
